Hello sports fans. This is really quite exciting for me, as someone who’s never had a blog before. I have been taking advice from my teenage daughters in terms of how one is supposed to conduct oneself in the blogoshere, so hope to retain some street-cred!
It’s my intention to use the blog to informally record details of what I’m upto during my year as Chair of the Association (attending sporting events; supporting sport and health related initiatives etc). At this point, I’d like to thank Gary Bankhead who made it possible in his capacity as our IT whizz.
I had a really enjoyable day in London this week, at an event convened to officially mark Janine Culley being appointment as the Assocations Sports Personality of the Year. Would you believe that the LFB Welfare Fund actually own a Pub. Not a bar within a building used for something else but a full blown pub!
Anyway, I had a great afternoon with Janine and her colleagues and am really looking forward to working with her – she has an energy and enthusiasm that’s really infectious and I’m sure she will be a great Ambassador for the FSSAA. More on this in the near future.
